I would like to congratulate SATRA (South African Towing and Recovery Association) on their excellent service.

SATRA’s chairman, Andre van der  Merwe, contacted me personally and attended to my complaint (ref:  NCC/04/11/SERFONTEIN/00921), and resolved it in one day! 

I think the public should be made more aware of SATRA and the services they provide, as most people are not even aware that there is a pro-active association that oversees the towing industry.

Well done to Andre and his team!

It is associations like SATRA that gives me HOPE for the future of South-Africa.

Firstly a heartfelt Thank you for all the support from the Breakfast Express team! It is amazing how many people you touched by Jordan’s initiative and your willingness to give us your support and very gracious donation of 1 ton.
 
We have been inundated with calls, deliveries and one in Particular that stands out is the Delivery this morning from the First Towing team that heard the broadcast to which drivers responded and took it upon themselves to call on retailers in the area collecting 2 Tons, which was delivered this morning by 14 Drivers with sirens and flashing lights. The Manger and head of Operations Craig Van Tonder and his team were welcomed by the Boys at the School and formed a human chain to unpack the 2 tons  of Mielie meal.  
 
We have received support from VDS (Vital distribution solutions) offering the use of  a huge delivery vehicle and delivery crew for a period of 5 Days free of charge to deliver to the nominated charities. In addition we received a further personal Donation of 1 ton from a Mr. Joe Barros of Tropical Music which now places collections more or less in the region of 9 Tons! and still climbing and hopefully a further challenge to the public will create further awareness and donations to a very worthy cause.
 
The Bill of responsibilities and 94.7 has certainly  challenged people ! and I am now further convinced that we are in good hands ! Go South Africa
 
In addition Jordan was interviewed by the Beeld news paper resulting a very encouraging article which I have attached for your perusal
 
Jordan unpacked his gift from Darren and is very Touched by 46664 Black pearl limited edition Bracelet in particular, apart from all the other great goodies he received and will cherish it in remembrance not only for the significance of the bracelet signifies but what can be a achieved by one individual who is prepared to make a difference and your commitment to do same.

I would like to commend one of your towing operators for the excellent service they provided on the 24th of December 2010. In particular Johan Van Rensburg from A1 Assist (Operator #22). They collected a new VW vehicle from our dealership and delivered to my customer`s door in Rustenburg the day before Christmas! Very few operators are available this time of year but Johan made sure that all arrangements were confirmed in advance. In addition their towing rates were very reasonable….I would recommend them any day!

Recently my dad and I were in KZN for a camping weekend. We were just leaving Durban when we had a blow out. The car we were driving had recently been given to us and other than checking the spare and ensuring the wheel spanner and jack were in the car we assumed everything was fine. When we tried to change the flat we were unable to get the bolts undone. We stripped 2 spanners and broke a third. We had now been sitting on the side of the highway for about 45 minutes with our two dogs in the car. We called roadside assist where a tow truck was dispatched to assist us. From the time we made the call to when the gentleman arrived was about 15 minutes. He assisted us to change the tyre and we were back on the road in no time. I wish to thank SATRA for their speedy assistance and for their professionalism. We were called numerous times by the call centre before the truck arrived to check how we were doing and we had a call after we had got back on the road to see if we were doing ok etc.

 

Excellent, problem free service!! Thanks for making an unpleasant situation as quick and pain free as possible.

Shane's Towing

On Wednesday the 24th I had a small accident and as I had never been in an accident I was quite a state. Not only did Shane and Clinton help me with the procedure they also calmed me down and checked to see if there was anything I needed and If there was anything they could do for me. I finally managed to calm down after talking to them.I just wanted to thank Shane and Clinton for their patience with me and for making me feel like not just any other client. I had then relaised thst I had left one or two things in my car and two days later they even brought the itmes to my house.Wow! They not only made me feel safe and comfortable but made me feel like I mattered and was not just a statistic. I feel that this company should be commended for not just doing their job but making me feel safe in my time of need. Thanks Shane's Towing for going above and beyond. Kind regards Lauren Wileman

Recently I was listening to SATRA's Executive Chairperson, whom I must say was very well spoken, informative and entertaining,

     talking about the towing industry on SAfm and telling it like it is.

I took his advice and visited SATRA's web site and found it as entertaining and informative as your Chairman. Top marks SATRA.

Exercising my freedom of choice, on his advice, I also visited your "opposition's" website after they elbowed their way in to put their address out. Dear me what a waste of time. You guys should do yourselves a favour and advertise their site for them, because if this is the measure of their ability, you can only win the motorist's support. 

Keep up the good effort and thank you for your sound advice and straight talk. SATRA gets my vote.

I was very impressed with the service of your members.
At approximately 14h30 on 26Th January I phoned Citroen Assist as directed by the Service Manager of Citroen Cape Town to arrange for my wife’s car (C4)  to taken in to Citroen Paarden Island.

Within 30 minutes Basson’s Towing was at my door to take the car,  which was delivered to Citroen by 16h00  

That is what I call Service

The car fault has been fixed and the car is now ready for collection

WELL DONE FOR YOU EXCELLENT SERVICE

We had to use SM towing services from Pongola on the 20/12/08. We were very impressed with the professional service not only in the towing but also in the repairs to our trailer. Schalk Jnr together with Chantelle was absolutely super. The chap from SATRA  was very helpful and checked with us to see if we had been assisted. I found him efficient, helpful, friendly  and he took the time and made the effort to make sure everything was done correctly, both on the side of SATRA's customer, being the writer, and SATRA's contractor, Southside Towing Services, insofar as conferencing the calls so as to ensure there were no hiccups and that all parties understood the terms and conditions of the job upfront.

I have effected payment via email transfer to yourselves, and faxed the confirmation of transaction through. Having just spoken to my driver, he advises me that the vehicle has been towed to our premises, by Eric, and all is now done. 

Would you please thank your Call Taker for his willingness and patience through this all night ordeal, and I would have no hesitation referring yourselves to others in need of these services.
